I'm a published author and illustrator and can deliver hands-on sessions on creating a picture book for Key Stages 1-4. This includes: discussing targeting vocabulary and text, narrative structure (beginnings, middles and endings for the little ones!), fiction and non-fiction, character development, genre etc. Content can be adapted to incorporate curriculum links such as life cycles, Fire of London, WW1, current events (sports, politics, news items), recent school trips etc. Emphasis can be given to either writing (incorporating literacy links) or developing pictures and learning to draw (can be mixed media, or just pencil and paper!), and can be paper based or digital (if an IT suite and appropriate software/hardware is available). I'm a qualified and experienced secondary teacher with two primary aged children, so have a good knowledge of how to structure and deliver an engaging and enjoyable session.
