Alex Naidoo was born and grew up in North West London, thoroughly enjoyed attending school and later went to art school (where she was asked to draw fish guts), drama school (where she learned to juggle) and teacher training college (where she learned to impart wisdom and knowledge delivered entirely through witty banter). Her career has been varied. She has been the chief custard pie maker for a children's TV programme, a spot-light operator for several West End musicals, a teacher of teenagers, pensioners, six year-olds, undergraduates and young offenders. She eats far too much chocolate, is ambivalent about tea, is rubbish at gardening (but awfully keen) and really wants a dog.

Oh, and she's a mummy.
